Nigerian high jumper Temitope Adeshina produced another outstanding performance to claim her first NCAA Outdoor High Jump title at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Adeshina cleared 1.96m to secure the gold medal, edging out her biggest rival, Ghana’s Rose Yeboah, on countback after both athletes successfully cleared the winning height.
The Nigerian star delivered a flawless display throughout the competition, clearing every height on her first attempt. Her perfect execution ultimately proved decisive, giving her the advantage over Yeboah and securing the national title.

The triumph marks another major milestone in Adeshina’s collegiate career, adding the NCAA Outdoor crown to the NCAA Indoor High Jump titles she won in both 2025 and 2026.
Adeshina’s latest success also capped a remarkable season in which she remained unbeaten from the start of the indoor campaign in January through to the conclusion of the outdoor season in June.
Her consistency and dominance across both indoor and outdoor competitions have firmly established her as one of the leading high jumpers in collegiate athletics.
The victory is another significant achievement for Nigerian athletics and further enhances Adeshina’s growing reputation on the international stage as she continues to impress against some of the world’s best emerging talents.
