Super Falcons defender Glory Ogbonna has returned to Beşiktaş for a second spell with the Turkish club. The 27-year-old Nigerian international rejoins the women’s team ahead of the 2026/27 season, Bold Sports reports.
Ogbonna spent the 2025/26 campaign with Israeli club Kiryat Gat after leaving Beşiktaş. Her latest move brings her back to Turkey after one year away. She now returns with previous experience of the club and Turkish women’s football.
Ogbonna returns after Israeli spell
The defender joined Kiryat Gat in 2025. She made the move after completing her first spell with Beşiktaş.
Before that switch, Ogbonna featured for Beşiktaş in the Turkish women’s league. That spell gave her experience of the domestic game and the club’s setup.
Her time at Kiryat Gat added another chapter to her career. She now gets the chance to continue her journey with Beşiktaş.

Beşiktaş strengthen defensive options
Ogbonna’s return gives Beşiktaş a familiar option in defence. The club already knows the Nigerian international from her previous stint.
Her experience with the Turkish side should also ease her return. She will now prepare for another season with the women’s team.
Beşiktaş confirmed the move through an official club statement.
“Beşiktaş have boosted their defensive line with the signing of their former player Glory Akumbu Ogbonna (born 25 December 1998 in Nigeria) for the upcoming season.” Club statement
The move marks Ogbonna’s return to a club she previously represented. It also brings her back to Turkey after her season in Israel.
For the defender, the 2026/27 campaign offers another opportunity at Beşiktaş. She will look to build on her previous experience while starting her second spell with the Turkish club.
