Gift Orban scored and provided an assist for the second consecutive game, while Ahmed Abdullahi netted his side’s only goal as 10-man Amedspor thrashed Eyüpspor 5-1 in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday.
Orban took his tally for the season to nine goals and four assists in 10 appearances, drawing level with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen at the top of the Super Lig goalscoring charts.
The Nigerian forward’s impressive performance helped Amedspor secure their third consecutive league victory and extend their unbeaten run to eight games, leaving them just two points behind leaders Galatasaray.
The hosts made a fast start to the encounter, taking the lead in the 13th minute through Ermal Krasniqi. Orban doubled their advantage in the 35th minute, finding the net with a brilliant left-footed finish to make it 2-0.

Just seven minutes later, the 24-year-old was involved again, providing the assist for Samuel Ballet to score Amedspor’s third goal and give the hosts a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
Hoping to avoid an embarrassing defeat, Eyüpspor made a substitution at halftime, bringing on Ahmed Abdullahi for Yusuf Barası. Despite the change, Amedspor extended their lead just six minutes into the second half, with Ballet scoring his second goal of the game to make it 4-0.
Eyüpspor eventually found a response in the 73rd minute when Abdullahi scored his second goal of the season to reduce the deficit to 4-1. However, Ballet completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 84th minute to seal a convincing 5-1 victory for the hosts.
Ballet’s outstanding performance ended on a sour note in stoppage time when he received a straight red card for violent conduct, leaving Amedspor to finish the match with 10 men despite their commanding victory.

The result takes Amedspor to 23 points from 10 matches, keeping them just two points behind league leaders Galatasaray. Meanwhile, Eyüpspor remain at the bottom of the standings with three points after suffering their ninth defeat in 10 league games.
Amedspor will face a crucial away test against Galatasaray on Saturday, November 7, with a victory set to take them above the league leaders. Eyüpspor, meanwhile, will host Kocaelispor on the same day as they look to end their seven-game losing streak.
