Ademola Lookman featured as a second-half substitute as Atlético Madrid secured a 2–0 victory over Levante at the Ciutat de València on Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward replaced Álex Baena in the 76th minute, with goals from Alejandro Grimaldo and Giuliano Simeone already putting the visitors in control.
Lookman began on the bench as Diego Simeone brought Giuliano into the starting line-up. The Nigerian subsequently entered alongside Robin Le Normand, who replaced Pablo Barrios in the same round of substitutions.
Atlético initially thought they had taken an early lead through Morten Hjulmand, but his effort was ruled out for offside following a video review.
Grimaldo eventually broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, giving the visitors a 1–0 advantage at half-time.

Giuliano added the second in the 62nd minute, finishing an opportunity created by Baena. The goal gave Atlético breathing space before Simeone refreshed his attack.
Jonathan David and Alexander Sørloth replaced Kang-in Lee and Julián Álvarez in the 67th minute, with Lookman introduced nine minutes later.
Levante were unable to find a way past Jan Oblak, leaving Atlético to complete the away victory without conceding.
For Lookman, the appearance continued his involvement in every Atlético league match this season. He entered the fixture having played in their opening 10 games, including nine starts.

His league return remains one goal, scored against Sevilla in August. Saturday’s outing followed his 45-minute appearance in the previous league match, a 1–0 victory over Deportivo de La Coruña.
The Nigerian had no goal or assist in the win at Levante, with Atlético’s decisive attacking contributions arriving before his introduction.
