Ola Aina played the first half as Nottingham Forest suffered a 2–0 Premier League defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, October 31.
The Super Eagles defender returned to the starting line-up ahead of Daniel Muñoz but was withdrawn at the interval, with Forest already trailing to Nikola Milenković’s own goal.
Igor Thiago added Brentford’s second in the 76th minute, ending the visitors’ hopes of recovering a result in west London.
Aina started on the right of Forest’s midfield in a 3–4–2–1 formation, with Neco Williams on the opposite flank. Morgan Gibbs-White and Dan Ndoye supported Liam Delap in attack.
Forest created opportunities before falling behind. Gibbs-White had an effort blocked, while James McAtee sent a shot narrowly wide as the visitors searched for an opening.

Brentford broke through after 30 minutes when Dango Ouattara beat Murillo and delivered a low cross that Milenković diverted into his own net.
Mathias Jensen almost doubled the lead before the break, striking the crossbar with a free-kick after Milenković fouled Kevin Schade near the penalty area.
Aina and Xaver Schlager both left the pitch at half-time as Forest made two changes.
The visitors subsequently threatened through Delap, while substitute Ryan Yates headed over from Gibbs-White’s delivery. Arnaud Kalimuendo also had a shot blocked as Forest pressed for an equaliser.
Brentford survived that spell and made the points secure through Thiago. Jaidon Anthony supplied the striker, whose finish took a deflection off Milenković and went in off the underside of the crossbar.

The defeat left Forest on six points from nine league matches, with one victory, three draws and five losses. Brentford recorded their third league win of the campaign.
For Aina, the afternoon brought a starting opportunity but ended after 45 minutes as Forest failed to build on their previous league draw at Ipswich.
Forest’s next scheduled league opponent is Manchester City. Brentford travel to Brighton for their next Premier League fixture.
