Kelechi Iheanacho continued his remarkable scoring run, finding the net for the 11th consecutive game as Bursaspor secured a 2-0 victory over Pendikspor in the Turkish 1. Lig on Monday.
The Super Eagles striker took his tally to 15 goals and three assists in 11 appearances for Bursaspor, further strengthening his position at the top of the league’s scoring charts and helping his side secure back-to-back victories.
Bursaspor headed into the encounter on the back of a convincing 3-0 win over Muğlaspor and carried that momentum into Monday’s clash, making an early breakthrough through Halil Akbunar.
The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute when Akbunar produced an excellent finish into the top corner, giving Bursaspor an early advantage.

Iheanacho then doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, capping an impressive team move. Bursaspor won possession as Pendikspor attempted to play out from the back before producing a series of quick, one-touch passes that opened up the visitors’ defence. A pinpoint cross followed, allowing the Nigerian forward to head home and make it 2-0.
The two goals proved enough to secure all three points for Bursaspor, who have now recorded three wins in their last five league matches. The victory also extended their winning streak to two games, while Pendikspor’s struggles continued as they are now winless in five consecutive matches.
The result lifted Bursaspor to second place in the Turkish 1. Lig standings with 25 points from 11 matches, just one point behind league leaders Kayserispor. Pendikspor, meanwhile, remain 17th with 10 points from the same number of games.
Iheanacho’s latest strike further widened the gap between him and his closest challengers in the race for the Golden Boot. With 15 goals, the Nigerian international is now six goals clear of Kayserispor’s Taulant Seferi and Sivasspor’s Rey Manaj, who have scored nine goals each.
With his scoring streak showing no signs of slowing down, Iheanacho continues to play a pivotal role in Bursaspor’s promotion push as the club looks to maintain its momentum and challenge for the top spot.
