Premier League legend and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has described Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi as one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.

The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder, who won the Premier League title in 1995, made the remarks on Sky Sports following Fulham’s 1-0 victory over Hull City at Craven Cottage. The result handed Fulham their first win of the season after seven games under manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

Iwobi scored the decisive goal, firing the ball into the back of the net from inside the penalty area after Sander Berge set him up following Hull City’s failure to clear their lines.

Beyond his match-winning strike, the Super Eagles star delivered an impressive performance throughout the game, earning praise from Sherwood, who was particularly impressed by his consistency and versatility.

“Iwobi must be one of the most underrated players in the Premier League,” Sherwood said after the game.

“The amount of games he churns out, the different positions he plays. He was excellent today. He was the goal scorer, but he was absolutely fantastic today,” he added.

Iwobi will now hope his goal and Fulham’s victory provide the platform for improved results as they look to build momentum in the Premier League.
