Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has successfully undergone surgery on the fractured fibula she sustained during Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic qualifier against Comoros.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward confirmed the development in a post on her official Instagram account on Saturday, expressing gratitude for the love, prayers and support she has received since suffering the injury.
“Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” the 26-year-old wrote.
Ajibade sustained the injury during Nigeria’s 5-0 victory over Comoros in the second leg of their second-round 2028 Olympic qualifiers at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The Super Falcons captain started the encounter but was forced off in the 28th minute following a collision with a Comoros defender few minutes earlier. She was subsequently replaced by Folashade Ijamilusi.

Nigeria went on to record a convincing victory, with Uchenna Kanu and Toni Payne both scoring twice, while Christy Ucheibe, who converted from the penalty spot, also got on the scoresheet.
The result sealed a 7-0 aggregate victory for the ten-time African champions, securing their progression to the third round of the Olympic qualifiers.
On Friday, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that Ajibade had suffered a fractured fibula and would undergo surgery before beginning her rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.
“Injured during Nigeria’s last match against Comoros, Rasheedat Ajibade has suffered a fractured fibula. Our striker will undergo surgery soon by one of the club’s leading surgeons before beginning her rehabilitation with the Paris Saint-Germain medical team,” the club stated on their official website.

With the surgery successfully completed, Ajibade will now begin her recovery and rehabilitation programme as she works towards a return to action.
Her recovery timeline remains unclear, with the Super Falcons and Paris Saint-Germain hopeful of seeing the influential forward return to full fitness in due course.
