Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray opened their 2026/27 Süper Lig title defence with a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Çorum FK at RAMS Park on Friday, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian striker struck in the 53rd and 90th minutes, but his goals could only earn the champions one point.
Osimhen continues his scoring form
Osimhen entered the new campaign after scoring 15 Süper Lig goals last season. He also netted twice against Antalyaspor in May and scored against Fenerbahçe in April. His latest brace now gives him an immediate impact in Galatasaray’s new league campaign.
Galatasaray controlled much of the first half. However, they could not turn their pressure into a goal. Osimhen came close in the 15th minute with a header. He also tested Marcos Felipe with a shot from distance.

Lucas Torreira released Osimhen into space. The forward then lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to put Galatasaray ahead.
Çorum turn the game around
The champions quickly lost their advantage.
Alexandros Kyziridis equalised in the 59th minute with a long-range strike. Jesús Ramírez then completed Çorum’s comeback two minutes later.
Galatasaray received another boost when Kyziridis saw red in the 70th minute. Okan Buruk responded by introducing İlkay Gündoğan, Eren Elmalı and Kaan Ayhan.
Still, Çorum defended their lead for much of the closing period.
Osimhen eventually produced the decisive moment again. Gabriel Sara delivered from a corner, and the Nigerian rose to head the ball into the bottom-left corner in the 90th minute.
Galatasaray pushed for a winner during seven added minutes. Yet Marcos Felipe made several important saves to protect Çorum’s point.
Galatasaray must respond quickly
The result gives both teams one point from the opening round. It also leaves Galatasaray with work to do after conceding twice at home.
The champions will now turn their attention to an away meeting with another newly promoted side, Erzurumspor.
For Osimhen, however, the night offered a major positive. His two goals showed his scoring threat remains central to Galatasaray’s ambitions.
