Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has shut down talk of Victor Osimhen leaving the club. His comments come as Arsenal continue to explore a potential move for the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen scored 22 goals and supplied eight assists in 33 appearances last season. He also scored twice against Antalyaspor in Galatasaray’s 4-2 win on May 9. His output has made him a key part of the Turkish champions’ attack.
Galatasaray refuse to entertain offers
Arsenal have discussed Osimhen’s future with Galatasaray during transfer talks. Those discussions have reportedly also included Arsenal forwards Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal also remain linked with the 27-year-old. Reports have previously claimed that the Saudi side made a major offer for the striker. However, Galatasaray continue to resist interest from abroad.
Özbek has now delivered the clearest message yet about the club’s position.
Speaking to 343 Digital as quoted by Habersarikirmizi. the Galatasaray president said:
”I will not say ‘Yes’ to any purchase that will be to the detriment of Galatasaray and will not benefit Galatasaray. What I said for Barış Alper Yılmaz, I am now saying more strongly for Osimhen. No matter how much money it is, I am not selling Osimhen.”
The declaration leaves little doubt about Galatasaray’s current stance. The club does not want to lose its leading striker during the transfer window.
Osimhen remains central to Galatasaray
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently after his initial loan spell. He has since established himself as one of the club’s most important attacking players.
His 2025-26 campaign included 15 Süper Lig goals and five assists. He also scored seven times in the Champions League.
The striker also produced a major performance against Fenerbahçe in April. He scored in Galatasaray’s 3-0 derby victory after returning from injury. He later scored twice against Antalyaspor in May.
Those performances underline why Galatasaray remain determined to keep him.
Arsenal face a difficult transfer battle
Arsenal’s interest now faces a major obstacle. Galatasaray have already made their position public through their president.
Osimhen also has a long-term contract with the Istanbul club. His current agreement runs until the end of the 2028-29 season.
For now, Özbek’s message is straightforward. Galatasaray consider Osimhen too valuable to sell, regardless of the size of the offer.
