Victor Osimhen’s name has emerged in discussions between Arsenal and Galatasaray as the Turkish giants negotiate with the Premier League club over potential deals involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.

According to The Telegraph football news correspondent Matt Law, Galatasaray have submitted a £38.4 million offer for Martinelli and have also expressed interest in Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.

The talks between the two clubs are understood to have extended beyond the two Arsenal players, with the possibility of Osimhen moving to the Emirates Stadium also discussed.

However, it remains unclear whether Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta raised the possibility of signing the Nigerian striker or whether Galatasaray effectively made Osimhen available as part of the wider discussions.

Arsenal have held a long-standing interest in Osimhen, but the 27-year-old has previously been behind Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez on the club’s list of preferred striker targets.

The Gunners’ pursuit of Alvarez has become increasingly complicated, with Atletico reportedly demanding a fee in excess of £100 million for the Argentina international.

That valuation has so far proved prohibitive for Arsenal and has led the club to consider alternative targets, potentially bringing Osimhen back into serious consideration.

The Nigeria international has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers during his spells with Napoli and Galatasaray.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently last year after initially spending the 2024/25 season on loan at the Turkish club. He enjoyed another impressive campaign in 2025/26, scoring 22 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances as Galatasaray won the Turkish Super Lig for a fourth consecutive season.

During his initial loan spell in the 2024/25 campaign, Osimhen was even more prolific, registering 37 goals and seven assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

With Arsenal still searching for a striker and Osimhen’s future potentially open to further discussions, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will make a concrete move for the Super Eagles forward.

There is also uncertainty over whether Osimhen’s situation could become linked to Arsenal’s decision on Martinelli or Nwaneri.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are not the only Premier League club to have been linked with the Nigerian striker. North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in Osimhen as they look to strengthen their attack.

With the transfer window approaching its final stages, Arsenal are expected to remain active as the club works on both incoming and outgoing deals, and Osimhen could yet become one of the biggest names at the centre of their transfer plans.
