The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has unveiled a new digital broadcasting partnership with Murphy Ben International (MBI). The deal aims to make domestic league matches easier for fans to watch online. It also targets wider promotion and stronger commercial opportunities for Nigerian football.
New Digital Platform for NPFL Fans
According to Mikethepundit, the partnership will give supporters access to selected live matches and delayed broadcasts. Fans can watch the games on phones, televisions, laptops and other internet-enabled devices through the official NPFL YouTube channel. Selected matches will also be available free of charge in HD.
NPFL Chairman Elegbeleye said the agreement addresses a long-standing problem for supporters. He believes the partnership will bring league football closer to fans at home and abroad.
“There will be no more excuses of ‘I didn’t see the match,’” Elegbeleye declared.
The agreement followed several weeks of discussions between both organisations. Their talks included meetings in Abuja. The process also featured a visit to MBI’s headquarters in Lagos.
MBI Targets Wider NPFL Exposure
The partnership goes beyond simply showing matches online. The NPFL expects the digital strategy to create fresh revenue opportunities. It also hopes to improve the visibility of its clubs and players.

The league believes greater online exposure can help Nigerian players reach international audiences. It also gives supporters more chances to follow their clubs from different parts of the world.
Elegbeleye said the NPFL chose Murphy Ben International because both sides share similar ambitions. Their goal is to modernise domestic football and make the competition more accessible globally.
”MBI, through its digital and technical expertise, will support the NPFL with improved production and distribution capabilities, while the partnership will also focus on telling the stories behind the league”
That storytelling focus could help highlight the people behind Nigerian domestic football. Clubs, players, coaches and supporters will all feature in the broader digital strategy.
Murphy Ben International Sets Global Ambition
MBI Chairman Murphy Anawana described the agreement as an opportunity to present the NPFL to a much larger audience.
He also promised that the company would use its production resources and social media reach to promote the league across Africa.
”This partnership will focus on digital broadcasting, storytelling, promotion, fan engagement and commercial partnerships, creating an opportunity to tell the stories of the NPFL, its clubs, players, coaches and supporters to a much larger audience and let the world know what NPFL has been doing.”
The arrangement will provide live coverage and delayed broadcasts of multiple matches during each matchday. That could give the NPFL a stronger digital presence and make domestic football easier to follow.
For a competition with a long history of producing talented players and successful clubs, the partnership represents an important step in expanding its audience.
