Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be fit for AC Milan’s UEFA Europa League clash against Austrian side RB Salzburg on Thursday despite missing training sessions due to a slight muscle strain, Bold Sports reports.
Chukwueze featured for 85 minutes in Milan’s 1-1 draw against Sassuolo over the weekend but has not trained with the team since the encounter, according to Italian news outlet Pazzi di Fanta. However, the injury is not considered serious, with the winger expected to be included in the squad travelling to Austria for the fixture.
The Nigeria international has been a key member of Ruben Amorim’s side since the start of the season, starting five of Milan’s six Serie A matches so far. Although he is yet to find the back of the net, Chukwueze has registered two assists, setting up goals in their 2-1 opening-day victory over Torino and their 1-1 draw against Juventus on Matchday 3.

The report stated: “Samuel Chukwueze did not take part in pre-match training due to a slight muscle strain. However, there is no cause for concern at the Rossoneri, as the winger will be called up for the trip to Austria.”
Chukwueze played the full 90 minutes in Milan’s Europa League opener against Benfica, which ended in a 2-0 defeat. The Rossoneri will be eager to bounce back from that setback and could need the Nigerian’s services as they seek a positive result against Salzburg.
The winger has enjoyed a renewed lease of life since returning from his loan spell at Fulham, impressing under former Manchester United boss Amorim.
Should he feature against Salzburg, Chukwueze will make his 310th club career appearance, having represented three clubs in his professional career.
