Trabzonspor have made their position on Paul Onuachu unmistakably clear after reportedly rejecting two offers from Saudi Pro League clubs for the Super Eagles striker, despite growing interest during the summer transfer window.
The Nigerian international remains one of the club’s most valuable players after an exceptional 2025/26 campaign. Onuachu scored 22 Turkish Süper Lig goals and provided two assists in just 30 league appearances, finishing as the joint Golden Boot winner alongside İstanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov. He also enjoyed a remarkable run of 10 consecutive league matches with a goal, a feat that placed him among Trabzonspor’s modern-day record breakers.
The 31-year-old crowned his memorable season by winning the Süper Lig Goal of the Season award for his spectacular bicycle kick against Fatih Karagümrük. The strike added another individual honour to a campaign that also saw him become only the sixth Trabzonspor player to finish as the league’s top scorer.

Despite that interest, Trabzonspor are determined to keep hold of their leading striker.
According to Buchi Laba on X, the Turkish club have already turned down two approaches from Saudi Arabia.
”Trabzonspor have made it very clear that they do not want to sell Paul. They have rejected two offers from Saudi clubs for him, but the Saudis still feel they can get a deal done.”
Although Trabzonspor insist Onuachu is not available for transfer, the club are also planning ahead should their stance eventually change.
Reports indicate they have made enquiries about another Nigerian striker as well as a Brazilian forward as contingency options.

”Trabzonspor also enquired about another Nigerian striker and a Brazilian striker. They are making plans in case Paul Onuachu leaves.”
Even so, the Turkish side remain in a strong negotiating position. Onuachu is under contract until 2028, meaning Trabzonspor are under no financial pressure to sanction a sale.
The club are expected to challenge for major honours again next season, and keeping their top scorer is viewed as a crucial part of those ambitions. Unless an extraordinary offer changes the situation, Onuachu looks set to remain in Trabzon and continue leading the Black Sea Storm’s attack.
