Asisat Oshoala scored the winning goal as Al Hilal came from behind to defeat Al Ittihad 2-1 on Wednesday and secure their place in the final of the Saudi Women’s Super Cup.
The Super Falcons veteran once again proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter that featured three Nigerian players, with Ashleigh Plumptre scoring Al Ittihad’s only goal and Christy Ucheibe making her debut for Al Hilal.
Plumptre, making her first start in 200 days after being sidelined with a persistent foot injury, marked her return to competitive action by opening the scoring just before halftime.
The 28-year-old found the net with a brilliant finish after Al Hilal failed to clear a cross, with the ball eventually falling to the Nigerian international, who made no mistake with her opportunity.

Al Hilal responded strongly after the break and restored parity in the 65th minute through Al Bandari Mobarak, setting up a tense finish to the match as both sides pushed for the decisive goal.
Ten minutes after the equaliser, Oshoala completed the comeback, finding the back of the net to put Al Hilal ahead and eventually book their place in the final.
The victory ends Al Ittihad’s hopes of lifting the Super Cup, while Oshoala continues her impressive form with another important goal.
Al Hilal will now face Al Nassr in the final after the latter secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Al Ahli in the other semi-final.
The final is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the King Fahd Sports City, with Oshoala set to lead Al Hilal’s attack as they bid to claim the trophy.
For Ucheibe, the final presents an opportunity to win her first trophy with Al Hilal just weeks after completing her move to the Saudi club following her departure from Benfica.
