…Chukwueze delighted with first Premier League start
Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was named Man of the Match after a brilliant performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, inspiring Fulham to a 2–1 victory and providing a key assist in the encounter.
The Nigeria international made his first start for the Cottagers on Saturday night after previously making five substitute appearances. His impressive showing – including an assist in last week’s 1–0 win over Sunderland – earned him a spot in the starting XI, and he justified that decision immediately.
Chukwueze set up Kenny Tete for the opener in the 4th minute, taking his tally to three assists in six matches. Harry Wilson doubled Fulham’s lead just two minutes later.
The winger came close to scoring twice: first hitting the woodwork in the 10th minute before failing to convert a one-on-one chance in the 25th minute that would have given Fulham a commanding lead.

Mohammed Kudus pulled one back for Spurs in the 59th minute, but it proved only a consolation as Fulham defended resolutely to secure maximum points and move up to 15th on the table in their ongoing resurgence.
Chukwueze started alongside fellow Nigerians Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi. He featured for 80 minutes before being replaced by Brazilian winger Kevin. Iwobi came off in the 87th minute for Timothy Castagne, while Bassey completed the full 90 minutes.
His standout display earned him the Man of the Match award, and speaking afterward, Chukwueze revealed he hadn’t expected to start.

“I wasn’t expecting it today. But I was focused on doing the hard work. The last months have been a bit difficult, but I kept my head down and kept working. I took the opportunity today,” he said.
On adapting to life at Fulham, Chukwueze praised Iwobi and Bassey for helping him settle quickly.
“They push me really hard in training and keep me motivated. We are so proud of the result today. We worked for it on the training pitch. The players gave everything on the field. We had to defend with all our life. This win is very, very important.”
