Shooting Stars crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday following a 2-1 aggregate defeat to CS Sfaxien, while El Kanemi Warriors advanced to the next round after securing a 3-1 aggregate victory over União Desportiva Internacional de Bissau.
The Oluyole Warriors had taken a narrow advantage into the second leg after defeating the Tunisian side 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, courtesy of Lucky Emmanuel’s goal.
However, CS Sfaxien overturned the deficit in the return leg at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium in Sfax, securing a 2-0 victory to seal their progression to the next round.
The hosts took the lead in the 25th minute before doubling their advantage in the 66th minute, completing the comeback and ending Shooting Stars’ continental campaign.

There was better news for Nigerian football as El Kanemi Warriors secured their place in the next round despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to União Desportiva Internacional de Bissau in the second leg.
The Maiduguri-based side had done the hard work in the first leg, recording a commanding 3-0 victory to establish a comfortable advantage in the tie.
Their 3-1 aggregate victory means El Kanemi Warriors will now face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for a place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The first leg is scheduled to take place in Ikenne between October 16 and 18, while the return leg will be played in Casablanca between October 23 and 25.
