Wilfred Ndidi’s move to Turkish giants Besiktas is now on the brink of completion, with contracts under review and a medical scheduled for Thursday, according to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg.
Leicester City are set to receive €9.5 million for the 28-year-old midfielder, with a full agreement reached between the player and the Turkish club. The final steps are now being taken, with paperwork being checked before Ndidi travels to Istanbul to finalise the switch.
The move comes after the Super Eagles star gave the go-ahead earlier this week, approving a three year contract with Besiktas. The Turkish side, who have been leading the race for his signature, acted swiftly after having their bid accepted, despite a late attempt from Spanish club Valencia to hijack the deal. Leicester turned down Valencia’s offer, opting to honour the agreement already in place with Besiktas.

Besiktas are expected to send a private jet to bring Ndidi in for his medical, which is scheduled for Thursday. The club sees the experienced midfielder as a key addition in their bid to reclaim the Turkish Super Lig title for the first time since the 2020/21 season.
Ndidi has spent seven years at Leicester City, amassing 303 appearances, 18 goals, and 22 assists since joining from Genk in 2017. He played 30 games last season, scoring once and providing five assists, but with the Foxes returning to the Championship, he made it clear he had no intention of playing in the second tier.
The Nigeria international will join a growing list of his compatriots in Turkey this summer, including Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray), Paul Onuachu (Trabzonspor), and Henry Onyekuru (Genclerbirligi), all of whom completed moves in recent weeks.
With all parties in alignment and only formalities remaining, Ndidi’s long-anticipated exit from Leicester is now just days away from being sealed.
