Nigeria’s Super Falcons have moved up to 36th in the world and continue to lead Africa in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on Thursday.
The ten-time African champions, who were previously ranked 37th in December 2025, have climbed one place in the new standings.
Since the last ranking, the Super Falcons have played twice. Their fixtures came against Cameroon in a doubleheader friendly played on 28th February and 3rd March, 2026.
Nigeria lost the first encounter between both sides 1-0, but came from behind to win the second 3-1 ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.

Despite their lack of game time, the Super Falcons continue to lead Africa’s standings. South Africa remain second in the continent, but drop to 58th in the world while Ghana remain third in Africa and climb to 59 globally.
Morocco and Zambia complete the top five and are 62nd and 64th in the World.
Globally, Spain remain the best ranked team in the world while the United States remain second. England climb up to third, Germany drop to fourth and Japan round out the top five.
Brazil remain sixth in the world globally while France remain seventh. Sweden drop three places to eight, Canada climb up to ninth while Netherlands complete the top ten.
