Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie kept her third cleansheet of the season and made five saves to help Brighton secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over London City Lionesses in the Women’s Super League on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
Brighton, buoyed by last weekend’s 4-1 win over Leicester, made a perfect start when Kiko Seike fired them ahead in the sixth minute. The visitors had a golden opportunity to stretch their lead in the 19th minute after Wassa Sangare conceded a penalty, but Elene Lete kept London City Lionesses in the game, saving Madison Haley’s spot-kick.
Despite the early setback, Jocelyn Prêcheur’s Lionesses grew into the game and dominated possession, but they were unable to find the net as Nnadozie made four saves in the first half to keep Brighton in front.

London City Lionesses maintained their pressure after the break, but Brighton tightened their defense, preventing the hosts from creating big chances. Nnadozie was called into action just once in the second half, saving the only shot on target as Brighton held onto their slender lead to secure victory.
The crucial win sees Brighton remain seventh in the WSL standings with 14 points, narrowing the gap between them and sixth-placed London City Lionesses to just one point.
Brighton now turn their attention to a daunting home fixture against reigning champions Chelsea next Sunday, while London City Lionesses will aim to bounce back when they visit Leicester on the same day.
