Newly-promoted Serie A side Monza have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
The Italian club announced the transfer in a statement on their official website on Saturday, confirming the addition of another promising young talent to their squad ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
According to reports, Monza will pay €7.5 million if the agreed conditions are met. The agreement is also understood to include a 10 percent sell-on clause for Inter Milan.

Akinsanmiro began his football journey at Beyond Limits before earning promotion to the Remo Stars first team ahead of the 2020/21 season. He played a key role as the Ikenne-based club secured promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the end of the campaign.
His rapid development continued in 2022 when he featured for Alex Transfiguration Academy at the prestigious Viareggio Tournament in Italy. The midfielder impressed throughout the competition, scoring three goals and emerging as one of the standout performers.
Those displays earned him a move to Inter Milan in January 2023, where he initially joined the club’s Primavera side. He registered three assists in 12 appearances during his first season before enjoying an even more productive 2023/24 campaign, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 28 appearances across the Primavera league and Coppa Italia Primavera.

His performances at youth level caught the attention of then-Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi, who handed him his Serie A debut on February 25, 2024, as a substitute against Lecce. Akinsanmiro later celebrated the league title with the Nerazzurri at the end of the season.
In search of regular first-team football, the Nigerian midfielder joined Sampdoria on loan for the 2024/25 campaign, making 38 appearances across Serie B and the Coppa Italia. He followed that with another temporary move to Pisa in the 2025/26 season, where he gained valuable top-flight experience by featuring in 24 Serie A matches.
At international level, Akinsanmiro broke into the senior national team while at Pisa. He earned his first Super Eagles cap after featuring in Nigeria’s pre-AFCON international friendly against Egypt on December 16, 2025.
The move to Monza represents another significant step in the 21-year-old’s development as he looks to establish himself in Serie A and continue his rise in Italian football.
