Uganda head coach Paul Put has unveiled a 30-man squad as the Cranes begin preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Bold Sports reports.

Unlike their Group C opponents, Nigeria and Tanzania who released a provisional squad of 54 and 53 players respectively, Uganda have chosen a more direct approach as they gear up for what will be their first AFCON appearance since 2019.

The squad features four goalkeepers, including South Africa–based duo Denis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns and Richards Bay’s Magoola Salim Omar. Alionzi Nafian and Charles Lukwago complete the goalkeeping department.

In defence, Burton Albion’s Toby Sibbick makes the list alongside Elio Caprodossi, Jordan Obita, Isaac Muleme, Timothy Awany and Aziz Kayondo. Three home-based defenders; Rogers Torach, David Owori and Hilary Mukundane, also make the cut.

The midfield is led by captain Khalid Aucho alongside Kenneth Semakula, Ronald Ssekingada, Bobosi Byaruhanga, and Baba Alhassan.

In-form striker Mato Rogers, who has scored 15 goals in 17 matches for North Macedonian side FK Vardar this season, is one of the names in attack. He is joined by Mukwala Steven and Ssemugabi Jude, while Allan Okello who contributed three goals and four assists during the World Cup qualifiers is also included in attack.

Lorenzen Melvyn, Travis Mutyaba, Denis Omedi, Reagan Mpande, Uchechukwu Ikpeazu, James Bogere, Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza complete the attacking line.
