Terem Moffi’s future at OGC Nice appears all but over after the club’s new sporting director, Roger Ricort, publicly confirmed that the Super Eagles striker is expected to leave during the summer transfer window, Boldsports report.
The 27-year-old Nigerian has returned to Nice following the end of his loan spell at FC Porto and reported for pre-season training. However, the Ligue 1 club has made it clear that he is no longer part of its plans despite having a year remaining on his contract. Ricort stated that Moffi is among the players the club intends to move on this summer.
Moffi’s difficult campaign saw him spend the second half of last season on loan at Porto after a breakdown in his relationship with Nice. He made 15 appearances for the Portuguese champions, scoring two goals and providing one assist before Porto decided not to activate their €8 million purchase option. Despite limited minutes, he finished the season with a Portuguese league title.
Speaking about the Nigerian international’s situation, Ricort delivered a blunt assessment.
”He is one the list of players we want to leave. He will surely be transferred elsewhere.”
He added:
”We don’t necessarily respect the man but we will respect the player. At the moment, he knows that he won’t be able to play for Nice any more, either. I think that would show a lack of respect to our supporters, but so long as he is here, we will try and be proper with him and his agents. When he finds a club, we will shake hands and wish each other good luck.”

Moffi’s relationship with Nice deteriorated following an incident in November when angry supporters confronted players after a defeat to Lorient. The striker and teammate Jérémie Boga were targeted during the confrontation, leading to both players being placed on sick leave. Moffi did not feature for Nice again before securing his temporary move to Porto in January.
Reports also suggest Nice are looking to reduce their wage bill as part of a wider squad overhaul, with Moffi among several senior players available for transfer this summer.
There is currently no confirmed destination for the Super Eagles forward, although he is expected to leave before the new Ligue 1 season begins. With Nice ruling out his involvement in their plans, Moffi’s priority will be securing a club where he can play regularly and rebuild momentum ahead of the new campaign.
