Juventus have confirmed the signing of Italian-Nigerian striker Daniel Okolo on a free transfer, adding the highly rated teenager to the club’s Next Gen squad ahead of the new season, Boldsports report.
The 2007-born forward joins the Serie A giants after leaving Triestina, where he made his professional breakthrough last season. Juventus announced the deal on Thursday, describing Okolo as one of the most exciting young prospects of his age group and a player with significant long-term potential.
Okolo caught attention despite Triestina’s relegation from Serie C. The teenage striker featured in 10 league matches, scoring one goal and providing two assists during his first season in senior football. Those performances helped establish him as one of the club’s standout young talents and attracted interest from several Italian clubs.
Following Triestina’s relegation, the club reportedly terminated the contracts of all its players. That decision allowed Okolo to become a free agent, enabling Juventus to complete the transfer without paying a fee.

The Turin club acted quickly to secure his signature ahead of rivals, with Spezia, Bari, Catania, Empoli and Juve Stabia all reportedly monitoring the forward.
Rather than moving directly into the senior squad, Okolo will continue his development with Juventus Next Gen, the club’s reserve team that provides young players with regular competitive football before they challenge for first-team places.
The team is managed by Max Brambilla, who is expected to oversee the Nigerian-eligible attacker’s progress as Juventus prepare him for higher-level competition.
In their official announcement, Juventus said:
”The striker born in 2007, born in Ravenna with Nigerian origins, joins the Juventus project after the experience gained first with the youth teams of Cesena and then with Triestina, where last season he made his debut among the professionals showing off his qualities and confirming his potential, confirmed by 10 appearances, a goal and 2 assists.
Physicality, presence in the penalty area and growth prospects make Okolo one of the most interesting prospects of his generation.
Welcome to Juventus, Daniel!”
If the teenager continues his development and delivers consistent performances with Juventus Next Gen, he could earn the chance to break into the Bianconeri’s first team in the coming seasons.
