Glasgow Rangers are considering the possibility of selling Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Football Insider 247.
According to information shared on a recent episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast by transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, the club’s leadership may choose to part ways with Dessers as part of their strategy to rejuvenate the team.

This decision doesn’t hinge on Dessers’ performance but rather on the club’s desire to significantly lower the average age of the squad and recruit promising young talents. Consequently, at 29 years old, Dessers might not fit into Rangers’ long-term plans.
Dessers, who arrived at Rangers from Italian side Cremonese last summer for £4.5 million, initially faced a slow adaptation to Scottish football. However, he has since managed to score 14 goals and provide seven assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. Notably, he has scored six goals in his last 10 matches and has a total of 10 goals in 22 league games.

Despite his recent goal-scoring form, Dessers has faced criticism from supporters in recent months for not meeting their expectations of a clinical striker capable of leading the team to a Scottish Premier League title.
As of now, Rangers occupy the second position in the league standings, trailing behind Celtic. Both teams are tied on 61 points after 25 league matches, with Celtic holding the top spot due to a superior goal difference.
