Defending Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars saw their struggles intensify on NPFL Matchday 24 after falling to a costly 2–1 defeat against Plateau United in Benin City.
The encounter, played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, swung in favour of the visitors when Jonathan Okechukwu put Plateau United in front in the 29th minute, handing the Peace Boys a deserved first-half advantage. Remo Stars responded after the break, restoring parity in the 63rd minute through former Rivers United forward Albert Korvah.

Just as the contest appeared headed for a draw, Harrison Ebah produced a decisive moment in stoppage time, unleashing a long-range strike that stunned the home side and secured Plateau United’s first away win of the season.
That outcome leaves Remo Stars rooted deeper in trouble, dropping to 18th place on the NPFL standings with 26 points and firmly positioned in the relegation zone.
In contrast, Plateau United’s revival continued under the guidance of new head coach Gbenga Ogunbote. The Jos-based side stretched their unbeaten run to five matches and climbed to 14th place with 30 points, easing their relegation concerns and highlighting their improved form.
