Rofiat Abdulazeez continued her dominance at the Prime Atlantic Squash Open, securing the Senior Women’s title for a fourth consecutive year with a commanding 3-0 victory over Monsurah Durosinlorun.

The number one-ranked player in Nigeria delivered a composed and clinical performance throughout the final to successfully defend her crown and further cement her place as Nigeria’s leading female squash player.

In the Under-19 girls’ category, Loveth Balogun emerged champion after edging Zainab Ishola 3-2 in one of the most closely contested matches of the tournament.

Following her latest triumph, Abdulazeez credited consistency, discipline and focus for helping her maintain her dominance.

“I am delighted to defend my title. Every tournament comes with pressure, especially when you are the defending champion.

“I stayed focused on my game plan and tried not to underestimate any opponent. Winning this title again means a lot to me and motivates me to keep improving.

“I also want to commend the organisers and sponsors for creating a platform that allows players to showcase their talents,” she said.

Prime Atlantic Group Managing Director Ayo Otuyalo, represented by Marketing, Corporate and Communications Manager Tobiloba Ariyo, applauded the quality of competition throughout the tournament.

Chairman of the Lagos State Squash Association, Tomi Falase also praised the contributions of players, coaches, referees and sponsors, while expressing optimism about the future of the event.

“The sponsors have just told me that the fifth edition will be bigger and better because of how impressed they are.
