Asoge FC emerged champions of the Apex Next Gen Champions Cup after defeating Olayinka FC 2-0 in the final at Fashola Garden, Ijesha Market, off Ijesha Road, Surulere, Lagos, on Friday.
The tournament, organised by the Apex Youths & Sports Foundation, featured 14 matches and produced 41 goals, with Ipaye FC claiming third place after a 3-2 victory over Arole Jesus FC.
Beyond the football, the organisers used the competition to support the development of young players by providing sporting and educational materials to participants and children.
The tournament’s Most Valuable Player was rewarded with a scholarship covering his university education, while five players received new football boots, socks and football bags.

More than 200 children also received branded academic materials ahead of the new school session, while over 200 attendees were provided with packed meals.
The Apex Youths & Sports Foundation is led by Richson Tetteh, who also serves as an officer of the Nigeria Cricket Federation. The foundation also organises cricket tournaments as part of its efforts to promote youth development through sports.
The organisers said the tournament was designed to create opportunities for young footballers while supporting their educational needs and encouraging their development both on and off the pitch.
He had previously organised a three-aside football tournament for youths in Ikate-Itire LCDA.
