Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is eager to help Leicester City secure their first win of the season when they host Everton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Ndidi played a pivotal role in the Foxes’ 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, providing two assists. While disappointed with the result, he remains optimistic about the team’s chances against struggling Everton.
“I believe it will be a fantastic match,” Ndidi said after the draw. “We must put the pain of the Crystal Palace draw behind us and focus on the positives. We have a talented squad capable of achieving great results. Once we secure that first victory, we’ll be unstoppable.”
“We have quality players and a brilliant coach,” he added. “Our confidence will continue to grow with each game. Just one win is all we need to take flight.”
Leicester were on the brink of their first three points of the season but were denied by Jean-Philippe Mateta’s 91st-minute penalty. Ndidi, however, was pleased with his team’s resilience after conceding the equalizer.
“Anything can happen in the Premier League,” he explained. “Crystal Palace were pushing to get back into the game, but we stayed composed. It was unfortunate to concede a penalty, but we played well overall.”
“It was very disappointing because we had the game under control,” Ndidi continued. “The result doesn’t reflect our performance. We played really well.”
Despite his impressive two-assist performance, Ndidi remained humble. “My individual performance doesn’t matter,” he said. “The most important thing is the team. We needed three points, but there are plenty of positives to take into the next match.”
