All 68,700 seats at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, venue for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final between Morocco and Nigeria, have been sold out more than 24 hours before the highly anticipated clash on Saturday.

The final promises to be a historic showdown. Nigeria, the most successful team in WAFCON history, are chasing a record-extending 10th title. Hosts Morocco, on the other hand, are seeking their first-ever continental crown, one which eluded them at the last edition.

In a show of massive support, Moroccan fans have snapped up the lion’s share of available tickets and are ready to cheer the Atlas Lionesses to a potential landmark victory at the expense of the Super Falcons.

WAFCON final tickets on CAF’s official website ranged from as low as 8.16 dirhams (₦3,400) to as high as 40.79 dirhams (₦17,000), while black market prices surged due to overwhelming demand. All tickets had been sold out before 3 pm on Friday.

A fierce battle is expected, with both sides likely to push for a decisive winner, whether in regulation time, extra time, or via a penalty shootout.

To reach the final, Nigeria cruised past Zambia with a 5-0 victory in the quarterfinals before edging South Africa 2-1 in a thrilling semifinal. Morocco defeated Mali 3-1 in their quarterfinal and overcame Ghana 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

For the Super Falcons, this final also represents a mission of redemption. They’ve already avenged their third-place defeat to Zambia and group-stage loss to South Africa from the last edition. Now, they set their sights on Morocco, who knocked them out in the 2022 semifinals.
