Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi says Fulham are disappointed with their 2–0 loss to Everton on Saturday but remains confident the international break will give the team some time to reset and return stronger, Bold Sports reports.
Fulham’s poor away form continued at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where goals from Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane condemned Marco Silva’s side to their sixth Premier League defeat of the season. The result leaves the Cottagers sitting 15th in the table with 11 points from 11 matches.
Speaking to SportyTV after the game, Iwobi admitted that the team fell short in key areas but backed them to recover after the break.
“We are disappointed, it’s not the result we wanted going into the international break. But I think during the break, we can cool off and come back even stronger,” the 29-year-old said.

Iwobi, who returned to face his former club, reflected on the team’s performance, acknowledging Everton’s early dominance and the impact of conceding from a set piece.
“I think the first half they were a lot more dominant than us. They were winning first and second balls, and of course the second goal killed the game from a set piece. In the second half we reacted well but we weren’t able to get the clear-cut chances that we wanted.”
Despite the defeat, Iwobi stood out for Fulham, impressing with his versatility as he switched between multiple midfield and attacking roles.
“It’s something I’ve learnt in the academy at Arsenal,” he said. “I’ve grown up playing in multiple positions, it’s helped my IQ and my understanding of the game. Whatever position I’m told to play, I’m able to do a job for the team. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the result that we wanted but wherever the manager tells me to play, I’ll give my best.”
Fulham will be looking to bounce back after the international break when they face in-form Sunderland, a crucial fixture as they aim to pull clear of the relegation zone.
