Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has confirmed that his rift with forward Ademola Lookman has been resolved and is now firmly in the past.

La Dea are set to face Sassuolo on Sunday at the New Balance Arena, a fixture that could be a memorable one for Lookman, who is poised to make his 100th Serie A appearance for the club.

Juric and Lookman made headlines for the wrong reasons during Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Olympique Marseille, after a touchline altercation followed the Nigerian’s substitution in the 75th minute of Atalanta’s 1-0 win. The situation escalated when Juric was seen grabbing Lookman by the arm as the forward left the pitch.

Addressing the incident in his pre-match press conference, Juric assured reporters that the misunderstanding had been settled and that harmony had been restored within the squad, a clear indication that Lookman remains in his plans for Sunday’s game.

“These things happen. You talk and exchange views, you open up, and the rapport becomes better than it was before. Ademola is a particular kind of guy. It’s all sorted – we just move on and shrug it off,” Juric said when asked about the clash.

While Lookman’s camp has yet to issue a statement, reports suggest the reigning African Footballer of the Year may consider his options in the January transfer window, potentially seeking a loan move or a permanent transfer.
