Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu was on target once again but his effort was not enough to secure victory as Trabzonspor were held to a 1-1 draw by Alanyaspor in their Turkish Super Lig encounter on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
The towering Nigerian forward showed his individual quality before finishing clinically in the 15th minute to hand Trabzonspor an early advantage. Onuachu, who had failed to find the back of the net in his previous two outings after a four-game scoring run, made no mistake this time as he netted his eighth goal of the campaign.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Trabzonspor failed to add to their lead before halftime, a wastefulness that would later cost them.

Alanyaspor grew into the game after the break and were eventually rewarded for their persistence when Ianis Hagi unleashed a thunderous effort in the 73rd minute that flew past Andre Onana to level the scoreline.
Fatih Tekke’s men pushed hard for a late winner, but Alanyaspor stood firm to secure a valuable point on the road, leaving Trabzonspor with a point for the second consecutive match.
The result took Trabzonspor to 25 points from 12 matches, missing the chance to close in on league leaders Galatasaray. Alanyaspor, meanwhile, moved up to eighth with 15 points.
For Onuachu, the goal capped another impressive individual performance as he moved joint-top of the Super Lig scoring chart alongside Uzbekistan striker Eldor Shomurodov, with both players tied on eight goals and nine goal contributions each this season.
