Los Angeles Lakers backup point guard Gabe Vincent is contemplating knee surgery, potentially sidelining him for another six to eight weeks.
The former Miami Heat player, who missed over two months with the recurring injury, recently returned on December 21st against the Bulls but remained sidelined for the following two games due to swelling.
According to league sources, the D’Tigers star is strongly considering surgery which would halt the amount of recurrence of the knee injury.
However, Lakers head coach, Darwin Ham, says their priority is understanding what is wrong with him and trying to get him healthy.

“You have to ensure everything is well and good with him and his health first and foremost and then you try to activate Plan B which is the next man up. Our top priority is to ensure we know what’s going on with him and put him in a position to get healthy,” Ham told the press before the Lakers’ 129-120 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Vincent joined the Lakers in the summer on a three-year $33 million deal after the expiration of his contract with the Miami Heat whom he helped push to the 2023 NBA Finals.
