Chimezie Metu records career-high 23 points, 19 rebounds in Phoenix Suns loss

Chimezie Metu finished with a career-high 23 points and a career high 19 rebounds but it was not enoufor the Phoenix Suns who lost 114-128 to a Luca Doncic-inspired Dallas Mavericks at the FootPrint Center.

Despite the loss, the D’Tigers forward performed exceptionally well comioff the bench to play for 34 minutes. He outscored Suns best players Kevin Durant (16points) and Devin Booker (20 points).

He also recorded a game-high 19 rebounds coupled with two assists. Greyson Allen had a team-high 34 points for the Suns.

Luca Doncic scored 50 points hitting eight three pointers, a season-high for the Slovanian along with 15 assists, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks. He was 12-for-12 at the free-throw line, and an efficient 12-for-25 from the field. He also reach 10,000 career points in the win.

Metu’s compatriot Josh Okogie contributed one point, two assists and two rebounds in 12 minutes while Udoka Azubuike had four points in four minutes.
