Nigerian stars in the UEFA Champions League are set for one of their toughest tests of the 2025/26 campaign this week as they go up against some of the competition’s biggest sides.
The trio of Raphael Onyedika, Igho Ogbu, and David Moses will be in action for their respective clubs on Tuesday and Wednesday, with all three facing what appear to be their most daunting fixtures so far.
Onyedika, who recently returned from injury, is expected to feature for Club Brugge against a Barcelona side currently on a two-game winning streak in the Champions League and fresh off a 3–1 La Liga victory over Elche at the weekend.

Brugge head into the tie after a heavy 4–0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their last Champions League outing, but they will hope that home advantage can inspire a much-needed response against the Catalan giants.
At the Fortuna Arena, Ogbu and Moses’ Slavia Prague will host an Arsenal team brimming with confidence following their strong form across all competitions this season.
Arsenal have been flawless in Europe so far, winning all three of their group games, scoring eight goals, and keeping a perfect defensive record. The Gunners have been tipped by bookmakers as one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
Slavia Prague, on the other hand, are still searching for its first victory of the campaign, having recorded two draws and one loss in its opening three fixtures. The Czech side will be hoping to break that run and reignite their push for a spot in the knockout stage with a statement win against the in-form Premier League side.

Beyond Ogbu, Moses, and Onyedika, several other Nigerian players will also be in Champions League action this week.
Victor Osimhen is expected to lead the line for Galatasaray away to Ajax Amsterdam, Bruno Onyemaechi’s Olympiacos face PSV, Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta battle Olympique Marseille, and George Ilenikhena’s Monaco travel to take on Bodo/Glimt.
