‎Nigeria successfully defended their Unity Cup crown after a commanding 3-0 victory over Jamaica in Saturday’s final at The Valley in London. Alhassan Yusuf scored twice, while Terem Moffi also found the net as Eric Chelle’s men delivered a dominant display to lift the trophy for the second consecutive year.

‎The Super Eagles arrived in the final on the back of a 2-0 semi-final victory over Zimbabwe. Yusuf had already been a key figure in midfield throughout the tournament, while Moffi continued his return to the national team setup. Femi Azeez also carried strong momentum into the final after impressing and contributing in the win over Zimbabwe.

‎Nigeria wasted little time asserting themselves. Just three minutes into the contest, a long throw into the penalty area unsettled the Jamaican defence. Goalkeeper Boyce-Clarke failed to deal with the danger, and Yusuf reacted quickest to convert the loose ball from close range.

‎The early breakthrough allowed Nigeria to settle into their rhythm. They controlled possession and moved the ball confidently across the pitch.

‎Jamaica struggled to maintain attacking pressure. Nigeria’s midfield remained organised and frequently forced turnovers in dangerous areas.

‎The Super Eagles continued to threaten through Moffi and Azeez. Their movement caused constant problems for Jamaica’s defence, especially down the left side.

‎Jamaica believed they had a chance to get back into the match shortly before the hour mark. Kaheim Dixon chased a loose ball inside the area and went down under pressure. However, the referee dismissed the penalty appeals.

‎Nigeria immediately punished their opponents. In the 59th minute, Azeez delivered an excellent cross into the box. Moffi rose above his marker and powered a header past the goalkeeper to double the lead.

‎With a two-goal cushion, Nigeria controlled the remainder of the contest. Jamaica introduced fresh legs, but the Super Eagles remained comfortable and disciplined.

‎Azeez nearly capped his performance with a goal but was denied by the goalkeeper.

‎The final result was sealed in stoppage time. Yusuf completed his brace with a composed finish to crown an outstanding individual display.

‎Nigeria comfortably saw out the remaining minutes to secure another Unity Cup triumph and underline their growing progress under Chelle.
