Victor Osimhen scored for the third consecutive game and provided an assist as Galatasaray secured a 3-2 victory over Göztepe in their Turkish Super Lig clash at RAMS Park on Saturday.

The Super Eagles striker took his tally for the season to five goals and two assists in three games, following back-to-back braces in Galatasaray’s opening two matches of the 2026/27 campaign.

Göztepe made a bright start to the encounter and took the lead in the 16th minute through Novatus Miroshi. However, Galatasaray fought back as Davinson Sánchez equalised in the 33rd minute before Osimhen set up Gabriel Sara to complete the comeback in the 55th minute and make it 2-1.

Eight minutes after providing an assist, Osimhen continued his impressive display by winning a penalty, which he converted himself with a right-footed shot into the bottom-right corner to give the hosts a two-goal advantage.

Göztepe responded almost immediately, with substitute Juan scoring just two minutes later, only seconds after coming on, to reduce the deficit to 3-2 and set up a thrilling finish.

The drama continued when Osimhen found the net again with a brilliant header in the 67th minute. However, the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Despite coming under pressure from the visitors late in the game, Galatasaray held on to secure a hard-fought victory and claim all three points.

The result moves the Turkish champions to the top of the Super Lig table with seven points, while Göztepe drop to 15th with just one point from their opening three matches, having recorded one draw and two defeats.

Osimhen’s goal and assist extended his remarkable run in the competition, as he has now recorded at least a goal contribution in each of his last 15 Super Lig appearances. According to OptaCan, that is currently the longest active streak among players in Europe’s top 10 major leagues.
