Semi Ajayi has been included in WhoScored’s Premier League team of the week following a brilliant performance in Hull City’s stunning 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
The Super Eagles defender delivered an assured display at the back while also scoring the opening goal for the newly-promoted side as they secured their first Premier League win over the Red Devils at the MKM Stadium.
After the game, Ajayi was rewarded with the Uber Eats player of the match award, marking a very positive start to the new season for the 32-year-old.
The Nigerian International is joined by Hull City goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis in WhoScored’s team of the week. The Greek shot stopper kept a clean sheet and also made five saves, producing an exceptional performance to keep United at bay.

Brentford’s Michael Kayode and Keane Lewis-Potter as well as Leeds United’s Jaka Bijol are named alongside Ajayi in defense. Vitaly Janelt, Anton Stach and Jack Hinshelwood, who scored a brace against Aston Villa, make up the midfield.
Cole Palmer is included in attack after an excellent showing against Fulham where he scored and provided an assist. He is joined by Brighton’s Maxim De Cuyper who also found the net against Villa, and teammate Joao Pedro who continued his unstoppable form with a goal and assist.
Semi Ajayi and Hull City have no time to rest on their laurels. The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they face Stoke City in the second round of the EFL Cup at bet365 Stadium.
