Kelechi Iheanacho scored for the 12th consecutive game as Bursaspor moved to the top of the Turkish 1. Lig table with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Keçiörengücü on Sunday.

The Super Eagles striker took his outstanding tally for the season to 16 goals and three assists in 12 matches, helping his side record their third consecutive league victory and their fourth win in the last five games.

Keçiörengücü took an early lead in the seventh minute through an own goal by defender Emirhan Başyiğit. However, Bursaspor responded strongly, with Amine Boutrah equalising in the 15th minute before Lewis Baker put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute to make it 2-1.

Despite falling behind, the hosts refused to give up and restored parity in the 43rd minute through Oğuzcan Çaliskan, who made it 2-2 to cap a dramatic first half and ensure both teams went into the break on level terms.

Just five minutes after the restart, Iheanacho restored Bursaspor’s lead with a brilliant individual effort. The striker received the ball on the edge of the box, dribbled his way into a promising position and fired into the net to make it 3-2.

The visitors extended their advantage in the 66th minute when Brazilian midfielder Lincoln, who had provided the assists for all three earlier goals, got on the scoresheet himself to put Bursaspor 4-2 ahead.

However, Lincoln’s impressive evening took a dramatic turn in the 84th minute when he received a yellow card for a foul before being sent off seconds later after picking up a second booking for dissent, leaving the visitors with 10 men for the closing stages.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Bursaspor held on to secure another important victory, moving above Kayserispor to the top of the Turkish 1. Lig standings with 28 points from 12 matches.

Bursaspor will look to extend their winning streak when they host Bandırmaspor in their next league fixture on Saturday, while Keçiörengücü will aim to return to winning ways when they travel to face Esenler Erokspor on Friday.
