The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Prince Sunday Udofia and Niyi Busari to key positions in the Olympic Eagles ahead of their U23 AFCON qualifying clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bold Sports reports.

Udofia will serve as team coordinator, while Busari takes charge of media duties as the Nigerian side prepares for the two-legged qualifier.

Udofia Brings Previous National Team Experience

Udofia previously served with Nigeria’s U17 national team, the Golden Eaglets. He held a similar position when the team successfully defended its FIFA U17 World Cup title in Chile in 2015.

His appointment brings previous experience with a successful Nigerian youth team to the Olympic Eagles setup.

Busari Takes Media Officer Role

Meanwhile, the NFF has appointed Niyi Busari as the U23 team’s media officer. Busari is an experienced journalist and the owner of the online publication BSN Sports.

Both appointments come as Nigeria prepares for a crucial qualifying encounter against DR Congo.

Olympic Eagles Prepare for DR Congo Test

The two officials will join the squad when the team resumes camp in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday, October 25.

Nigeria will travel to Lubumbashi for the first leg at the TP Mazembe Stadium on Friday, November 13. The Olympic Eagles will then host DR Congo in the return leg at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, four days later.

The two matches will determine Nigeria’s progress in the U23 AFCON qualifying campaign.

With preparations underway, the appointments of Udofia and Busari add administrative and media experience to the Olympic Eagles’ setup ahead of the decisive fixtures.
