Stanley Iheanacho maintained his prolific start to pre-season by scoring in FC Midtjylland’s 4-2 friendly victory over Silkeborg IF on Saturday, making it three goals in as many appearances since his return to the Danish Superliga side, Boldsports report.
The Nigerian forward came off the bench to leave his mark once again as Midtjylland stepped up preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a dream return to Midtjylland after rejoining the club from Portuguese outfit CD Mafra on a contract running until December 2030. Since returning, Iheanacho has found the net in every pre-season outing, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory over Lillestrøm before adding another in a 2-2 draw against Malmö. His latest strike against Silkeborg extends that impressive sequence to three goals in three matches.
Midtjylland looked in control after first-half goals from Mikel Gogorza and Dario Osorio handed them a 2-0 advantage.

Silkeborg responded early in the second half when Rami Al Hajj curled home a free-kick in the 53rd minute to reduce the deficit.
Iheanacho was introduced after the break and quickly restored Midtjylland’s two-goal cushion. The Nigerian attacker met a precise delivery from Aral Simsir with a composed finish to make it 3-1.
Although Sofus Berger gave Silkeborg renewed hope by making it 3-2, Frederik Bunten wrapped up the contest with Midtjylland’s fourth goal to secure an entertaining victory.
The striker completed his permanent return to Midtjylland earlier this summer after two seasons with CD Mafra. During his spell in Portugal, he made 65 appearances across all competitions and scored 17 goals, convincing the Danish club to bring him back. Before leaving in 2024, Iheanacho had impressed for Midtjylland’s U19 side with 12 goals in 22 matches and also scored twice in four UEFA Youth League appearances. He has signed a long-term deal that keeps him at the club until December 2030.
Midtjylland will now hope Iheanacho’s goalscoring form continues when they begin their competitive schedule, with a UEFA Europa League qualifying tie against Beşiktaş and the new Danish Superliga season on the horizon.
