William Troost-Ekong will be part of four African football greats conducting Tuesday’s draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) PAMOJA 2027 Qualifiers.
The former Super Eagles captain and AFCON 2023 silver medalist will be joined by Max-Alain Gradel (Cote d’Ivoire), Essam El Hadary (Egypt) and Trésor Mputu (DR Congo).
The ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) in Cairo.
AFCON 2027 marks the long-awaited return of the continental showpiece to East Africa for the first time in 51 years. It will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

A total of 48 teams will participate in the qualifiers, with the draw producing 12 groups. 24 teams will qualify for the finals. Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have taken three of those places as co-hosts.
Three-time champions Nigeria will be one of the nations discovering their opponents in the draw on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles finished third in the previous AFCON hosted in Morocco, extending their wait to win the trophy again. Nigeria last won the AFCON in 2013, defeating Burkina Faso in the final at South Africa.
