Nefeye Osazee has signed his first professional contract with AFC Bournemouth. The Nigerian midfielder has earned the deal after progressing through the club’s academy, Bold Sports reports.
Osazee has become a regular member of Bournemouth’s development squad. He also travelled with the squad to France during pre-season. The team won the Tournoi Européen during the trip.
Osazee continues his rise at Bournemouth
The midfielder joined Bournemouth as a first-year scholar. He previously developed at Arsenal’s academy before continuing his football journey in England.
Born in Nigeria, Osazee has continued to develop since moving to the Cherries. He remains eligible for under-18 football. However, much of his recent involvement has come with the development squad.

His progress has now earned him his first professional contract. The milestone also gave his family a chance to share the occasion with him.
Fifteen members of Osazee’s family attended the signing. His grandfather also travelled from Nigeria for the special moment.
Osazee described the occasion as a dream come true.
“It’s nothing short of amazing. I’ve always known I wanted to be here, but to actually get here, it’s a dream come true, to be honest. I’ve really been loving it. The coaches especially have been a huge help. The assistance I’ve gotten, the guidance, they walk me through everything. It’s nothing short of amazing.
“At this club as well, I can see the amazing progress this club is making, and it really motivates me and the other boys I’m playing with to just be better every day.
“I’m emotional thinking about it. My grandad’s come straight from Nigeria just for this signing. It’s a monumental moment for all of us.”
Bournemouth academy backs Osazee’s development
Bournemouth Head of Academy Sam Gisborne also congratulated the young midfielder and his family.
“Really pleased for Nefeye and his family. It was great to see so many of them travel, including the eldest member all the way from Nigeria. Nefeye has had some great moments since joining here, hopefully many more to come.”
Osazee will now continue his development with Bournemouth after securing his first professional deal.
