Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi was on target, while Ola Aina featured for 90 minutes, as Nottingham Forest boosted their survival hopes with a convincing 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
Awoniyi, introduced in the second half, capped off an assured performance from the visitors with a late goal to seal all three points. The result lifts Forest three points clear of the relegation zone, while deepening Tottenham’s struggles, with Spurs now winless in 13 league matches and hovering just one point above the drop.
Tottenham began the contest brightly, drawing confidence from their recent draw against Liverpool and a midweek victory over Atletico Madrid. The hosts created early openings but were unable to convert their chances.

Forest, however, struck just before the break. A well-delivered corner from Neco Williams found Igor Jesus at the back post, and the striker guided his header into the back of the net to hand the visitors a 1-0 lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 62nd minute through Morgan Gibbs-White, who finished from close range after a brilliant burst of pace and assist from Callum Hudson-Odoi. Despite the efforts of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, the ball found its way into the net.
Forest head coach Vitor Pereira turned to his bench in the closing stages, introducing Awoniyi alongside Ryan Yates, before later bringing on Dan Ndoye.
The tactical changes paid off late on, as Forest wrapped up the victory in the 87th minute. Awoniyi was perfectly positioned to tap home from another excellent delivery by Williams, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 win and marking Pereira’s first Premier League victory as Forest head coach.

Awoniyi’s goal was his second in the league this season, and may prove very crucial in Forest’s fight for survival. Elsewhere, West Ham slipped into the relegation zone following a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa, further strengthening Forest’s position.
Both sides will return to action after the international break. Tottenham, now desperate for points, travel to face Sunderland on April 12, while Nottingham Forest resume their Europa League campaign with a quarterfinal clash against Porto.
