Super Eagles and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman says he is focused on winning games after his impressive performance against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday, Bold Sports reports.
The 28-year-old scored his first Champions League goal of the season and provided an assist as Atalanta won 3-0 at Germany, a commanding result that took the Italian side up to 10th in the league phase standings.
“I think it’s important right now to get the victory, as 3-0 away from home is a really good result,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

Lookman started in attack alongside Charles De Ketelaere, who won the player of the match award after also scoring and assisting, and Gianluca Scamacca who hit the woodwork twice.
“Obviously, it’s very free and easy playing with Scamacca and De Ketelaere, because they are quality players. We just have to keep on working and improving as a team, we take this performance and hope to carry it on in the league,” he added.
The result marked Raffaele Palladino’s first win as Atalanta head coach after his debut loss to Napoli in the Serie A. Lookman praised the Italian’s philosophy, stating that it helped them score goals against Frankfurt.
“The Mister has a very clear idea of attacking and entertaining football, which you can see in the goals that we scored. Obviously, the DNA of pressing and hard work is in the team anyway, and we have to keep that going.”

Lookman further spoke on his situation at Atalanta. Earlier this season, he refused to train with the club after his proposed move to Inter Milan broke down. The winger also recently had a touchline row with former head coach Ivan Juric before the Croatian was sacked.
“You know, what’s happened has happened. A lot’s gone on. Some things people know, others they don’t,” the Nigeria international said.
“Right now is the time to work hard for the team and we need to win games, that’s the most important thing, to get stronger every day. That is what I am concentrated on and so is the team, working together every day to get results.”
