President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged the Super Falcons to go all out and win a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title tonight in Rabat, Morocco.
“Go for the tenth! Bring the trophy home. Your fellow countrymen and women, young and old, are rooting for you,” Tinubu said in a powerful message to the team hours before their final clash against the host nation.
The Falcons are unbeaten in the tournament and have conceded just one goal. And for the President, their performance has been nothing short of inspiring.
“Your performance at this tournament over the past three weeks has been awe-inspiring. You have represented our country with pride, honour, and strength.”

Tinubu praised their unity and compassion, especially their visit to Gabriela Salgado of South Africa, who got injured during the semi-final.
“That simple act of compassion reflects our shared humanity, empathy, and sisterly affection, which we Africans hold in high regard.”
On the pitch, Nigeria has dominated. The President said the stats speak for themselves.
“If statistics alone win matches, you are already champions. Unbeaten in the group stages, victorious in the knockout rounds, and conceding only a goal in the semi-finals. Apart from this, you have emerged triumphant in all your previous nine finals.”

To show support, Tinubu has sent a high-powered delegation to Rabat to cheer the team on. The group includes Ministers Hannatu Musawa, Doris Uzoka-Anite, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, and Sports Commission Chair Shehu Dikko.
He also thanked the Falcons’ families, coaches, fans, and Nigerians in Morocco.
“We are rooting for you and praying for your resounding success tonight… I look forward to receiving the team, the trophy, and the officials in Abuja.”
