Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho is back in training with Sevilla after his loan spell at Middlesbrough last season, as preparations intensify for the club’s preseason campaign, Bold Sports reports.
Limited to just 11 appearances during the first half of last season, Iheanacho moved to Middlesbrough on loan in January in search of regular playing time.
While at Middlesbrough, the Nigerian International featured in 15 Championship matches, registering one goal and two assists, as the club narrowly missed out on the promotion playoff spots by four points.
With Sevilla under new management in Matias Almeyda, Iheanacho will be eager to impress, though competition for a place in the attack is stiff, with fellow Nigerian striker Akor Adams, Isaac Romero, and Rafa Mir all in contention.

Although Iheanacho is said to be content remaining at Sevilla, the club could explore options for his departure, but his current deal which runs until 2027 complicates matters.
A loan move remains a possible short-term solution, but Almeyda may prefer to assess Iheanacho’s fit with the squad during the upcoming preseason fixtures.
Sevilla’s preseason schedule will continue with a clash against Sunderland on July 19, followed by matches against Schalke 04 on July 26 and Al Qadasiya on August 4. They’ll round off preparations with a friendly against Aston Villa on August 7.
