Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is expected to sign a new contract with Leicester City, keeping him at the club until 2027.
Ndidi’s previous contract expired on June 30, and he was initially expected to leave the club for a new challenge. However, despite interest from several clubs, the combative midfielder has opted to stay and help the team return to the Premier League.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Nigeria international chose to remain with Leicester despite receiving concrete bids from clubs such as Olympique Marseille, Trabzonspor, Everton, and Galatasaray, among others.
Romano stated, “Wilfred Ndidi, set to sign new deal at Leicester City as final details are being discussed — then all sealed. Exclusive details: contract until June 2027, three-year deal… with release clause also included. Despite more than 5 bids, Ndidi decides to stay and sign.”
Ndidi joined the Foxes in 2017 from Belgian side Genk. During his first stint with the club, he made a total of 273 appearances across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists in both the Premier League and the Championship.
