Two-time CAF Champions League winners Enyimba have received a bye in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup, while FA Cup winners El Kanemi Warriors have been seeded in Pot 1.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) On Wednesday released the list of teams participating in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup for the 2024/25 season.
A total of 52 teams will compete in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Enyimba, who finished third in the 2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, have been drawn bye and will automatically qualify for the first round of the Group Stage qualifiers. This is due to their ranking among the top 12 highest-ranked clubs in the competition.
Other teams drawn bye include; RS Berkane (Morocco), ASEC Mimosa (Cote d’Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali), Zamalek (Egypt), Simba (Tanzania), El Masry (Egypt), CS Sfaxcien (Tunisia), AS Vita Club (DR Congo), Sekhukhune United (South Africa), Saint-Éloi Lupopo (Congo) and USM Alger (Algeria).
El Kanemi Warriors, one of 40 club sides vying for a spot in the first-round playoffs phase, have been seeded in Pot 1. They may face clubs such as Stade Tunisien in the competition.
